KAYI SASVE AVALAKKI / BEATEN RICE WITH SPICY COCONUT

METHOD:

Rinse and Soak the beaten rice, poha/ Avalakki in enough water for 2-3 minutes and drain the water, cover and keep it aside for 10 min.

Grind coconut, cumin seeds, fried dry red chilli's and salt adding 1-2 tsp of water.


Heat the oil in a pan, add mustard seeds when it splutters, and add chana dal, urad dal fry for few second till light brown. Add peanuts and fry till done,
take out the seasoning in separate bowl.
Add chopped capsicum/bell pepper to the remaining oil and fry till soft. Then add chopped tomatoes and fry.(i used green tomatoes)
Then add ground coconut paste to it and fry till the raw smell goes away.
 Add soaked beaten rice, salt and mix well.
Add reserved peanut seasoning and lemon juice and mix

Kayi sasve avalakki is ready to serve for breakfast or as evening snacks.

TOMATO KAI GOJJU/ GREEN TOMATO CURRY

Palak soppina akki rotti/Palak/spinach rice flour rotti
