METHOD:
1.Take beaten rice in a bowl, rinse and soak the beaten rice with double the volume ofwater for about 2-3 min,and drain all the excess water,Cover and rest it for 15-20 min.
2.Chop all the ingredients, tomatoes, green chilies coriander, curry leaves, ginger and keep it aside.
3.Heat the oil
in a pan add mustard seeds when it splutters, add channa dal, urad dal,
turmeric, asafetida and grated ginger,
fry for 30 sec, then add green chilies, peanut and fry till light golden brown on medium heat.
4.Take out
some portion of crispy peanut and seasoning in a small bowl.So,that can be
used later to mix with Avalakki.
5.Add chopped
tomatoes, frozen peas and fry for 1-2 min till soft.
6.Then add
soaked Avalakki/beaten rice, Salt and mix well.
7.Garnish with cilantro and reserved peanut, and serve hot Avalakki immediately.
TIPS:
You can add shredded coconut to enhance the taste of avalakki/beaten rice.

Adding too much of water and soaking for long time would makes beaten rice mushy.
Sprinkle
little water if soaked Avalakki/ beaten rice will become thick.
Avalakki
will become hard quickly, Serve immediately, or keep it in hot carrier.
